You can use a PSP charger to charge the PRS-600!

You can buy a cheap one off ebay…

    Great review and tutorial!!

I received a Sony Reader Touch Edition for Christmas and have really enjoyed it so far.

The information presented was to the point & very informative. I look forward to more reviews by “Mobile TechReview” as I am now a subscriber.

  • margaritasydney:

Can i read book in different languages on it?

  • MobileTechReview:

You can get the books anyway you want. The Sony ebook store books are not free. You can set up an account at the Sony ebook store with a credit card.

This was a great review :) . Really thorough and detailed, great info for someone who is wanting to buy this (like myself).
I do have a question about the Sony Reader Library. When you buy the device, I’m guessing the 350 books that can be stored are not free of charge? The library must charge money for it somehow? Do they bill you or anything?
I would just like to know because my main interest in this would be for its on-the-go reading.
Thanks again for the helpful review!

i dont know if this question seems dumb or not

    but a question

ebook reader does they have an option 2 choose how the text should appear i mean like from below 2 the top the slowly up driving text know what i mean
is there an option like this ?

  • xxcreekqt17xx:

the kindle is a giant comparing with the prs

  • MobileTechReview:

Yes, it can keep track of multiple bookmarks. It just sets a little virtual bookmark on each book.

  • sleepysource:

Awesome review, no fluff and to the point! Many thanks.

One thing I can’t work out is if this reader can keep track of where you are in multiple books? ie If you have four books on the go and are switching between them, will it keep your place/page for each one or only for the last one you were reading?

  • MobileTechReview:

There is no built-in RSS reader yet. You can use Calibre to convert the RSS and load them as documents.

  • corgrath:

Can the PRS 600 read internet feeds, like RSS?

I am looking for a decent reader where i can also read internet feeds.

  • MrKarlalfred88:

awesome thank you. you are also a great reviewer. short and consise reviews are the best. but your is better. :)

  • MobileTechReview:

The reader supports ePUB and PDF with or without DRM. They support DRM so that you can take out library books. We have a full review on mobiletechreview web site that covers this and many other features. Please feel free to check it out

  • MrKarlalfred88:

And another question. Which filetypes do the readers support?

  • MrKarlalfred88:

Just an amazing review. You get a tenner!!! :)

But one important question. How are the DRM-restrictions on this one? Kindle is very restrictive. I hope this one isn’t. When I buy a book I want to be able to read it on my computer and whenever I like… I want to be able to transfer the books to my other devices. Thank you for an amazing review!! ;)

Thank you for a clear and concise review, spoken in a pleasant voice!. I will be receiving the Sony 600 via UPS tomorrow. This week has been the longest wait of my life!! I’ve been using a Fictionwise eBookwise reader for about a year, which is like a toy next to the 600. Regardless of some of the 600 pitfalls (namely low contrast & glare), it will most likely be a VAST improvement over the eBookwise. I have a feeling that I’ll be pleased. :o ) This review definitely helped my decision.

  • SocaTrain:

o ok. thanks so much for your help

  • kerohime:

You can get the PRS 900 which is the Sony Daily Edition that has 3G wireless internet. SO you can browse the sony store and download directly from the site. You can also subscribe to newspapers that will get downloaded directly into the reader everyday.

I was leaning towards the 900 but I’m in Canada, and the network hasnt really been available yet. So I got the 600. Kinda of too impatient to wait. haha

  • SocaTrain:

so you have to download the books on your computer, then transfer them to the device or is there like a wireless feature where you ca download directly to the reader? im just curious because im thinking about getting one soo

  • kerohime:

Btw, you use a USB cable that connects the device to your computer, and you can use the Sony ebook library (kinda like itunes) or other programs to organize and transfer books.

I’ve been using the Calibre program to do all that, and it has been a Godsend. =)

  • kerohime:

I actually bought this last Saturday.

I couldnt wait for the 900 to come out, and Best Buy had a really awesome open box deal, 315 CDN and a free leather cover to boot!

So far I adore this thing, and I’ve been using Calibre to download the newspaper on it. =) I’ve already finished a couple of books on it since saturday!

  • SocaTrain:

how exactly do you put new books on this?

  • unklekranky:

I got more information from this video than I did from anything Sony has. Thank you!
